| Ours have done the same thing. LOL They spill all the water to lay in not realizing they won't have anything to drink if it dries before someone gets home. Poor guys. They can't help they are hot AND thirsty and don't know what to do to fix it. Tony wants to put them both outside, in a fenced in yard (or in the garage if no fence), when we move. He says he's tired of dog hair being all over and not being able to walk without tripping over a dog. I told him they won't know what to do without us around 24/7. If they are outside they'll get more exercise and have more room to play without messing stuff up but I like when Gunner is on the bed before we go to sleep...and when Tira sits in my recliner to sleep...and how happy they are when we come home! We'll have to find some middle ground on the whole outside thing I think. |

| Yeah we've talked bout the same thing since the baby. But one...it's too hot here. So hubs has talked about adding an a/c unit to the garage with a doggie door. And two...Labs always want to be around their people which leads to alot of the tripping over. I know how he feels. It never fails I trip or stumble or whack one in the head with the swifter b/c they are always around me. I don't have the heart just to move them out...but as she gets older and starts to crawl...I don't want her crawling around in dog fur. So I think we'll just have areas off limits to the pups...right now our bedroom and the entire upstairs are off limits. |

| Do you have baby gates up in the areas you don't want them to go in? That's the only way we can keep ours from following us - doubled up baby gates in the doorway.
I think we'll have to let them have outside during the day and inside (garage or spare room/kitchen) at night. I just couldn't deal with it if something happened to them overnight and I knew it could have been prevented if they were inside. I figure when we are gone during the day we'll put them in the spare room and they can be outside when we are home, and at night. Plenty of people time, play time, exercise and safety. |

| I've been telling them to go out of my bedroom when they would come in...so now they mostly stand outside of the door and look in. I have a baby gate blocking the stairway. Eventually I'll have gates to keep them out of the living room. I'm gonna need a long gate with an opening. The one going upstairs opens and closes which is nice b/c you don't have to climb over it...I need the same thing for the living area.
I understand what you mean about something happening to them. I couldn't deal with that either. |
