| | Thank you, I have to admit since harvey lost the weight he has been so much happier and is keeping up with murphy now when they chase each other around the garden. |

| | I noticed that same thing with Guns. He went through a limping stage with one of his front shoulders and we added a supplement to his meds. But since he lost weight and added the supp...he doesn't limp or seem stiff. He runs and runs and is as fast as Bell. Glad to hear Harvey is super fast now! LOL. I love Murhpy's pics too...he looks like a real character. It's like he's smiling! |

| Harvey looks like a different dog! That's so cool that he's lost that much weight. They both looked very happy. |

| harvey really does look younger and I'm pleased he can now keep up with murphy. You don't realise how quickly they can become over weight, but being labs they always seem hungry.
Murphy is definitly a character, even the vets have noted that he acts like he is on speed. He is absoluty nuts and full of energy, one of the reasons I'm pleased harvey can help wear him out! |

| | So does Dixie! I agree they really can pack on pounds really quickly. It's easy to over feed and over treat them. LOL....Murphy is on speed. He's a cutie. |

| Tira has weighed 69 lbs for most of her adult life. About 5 lbs over what she should weigh, but we just can't seem to get it off of her. We've cut her down from 3 cups 1x per day to 2 cups and she still seems to be gaining???? Not that much in the way of treats or extras either. I just don't get it?
Granted she's getting less exercise than usual due to the heat, but still.... |

| | You may want to switch her to a low cal food. I had Gunner on ProPlan weight management...1cup 2x per day. Our vet did suggest feeding Bell less 1/2 c 2x per day b/c she say females will pick up weight more quickly than the males. I did that for a bit until we got her down and then went back to 1c. I just try to keep and eye on how she looks...but the weight management food worked well. |

| LOL Remember on k9mania that member wanted to open a doggy gym? Wonder if she ever did it ? LOL Anyway it kinda would be good for dogs to go into a nice place made just for dogs. A/C,Treadmills, Rings, all those tubes and what not. It probably would get tons of business if it was affordable. Anne is getting heavy as well so don't worry the heat is hurting her too. _________________ Need A custom Website? Contact me for more info!

| Oh dixie looks so much healther now.
You just don't realise how big they are getting, it really sunk in when we first got Murphy, because he is naturally a slimmer lab it made Harvey look really fat. Well I have 2 happy boys now so I'm happy, although I'm starting to get broody for another puppy, I don't know whether to get a choc lab so I have the set or whether to get a spaniel, probably a cocker as the springer breed might be a bit too much for me to handle with the boys. Still have to convince my other half that we need a third dog though. |

| Go ahead and get a chocolate. You may as well round out the set.
As for Tira's weight - I know once it gets cooler and I can take them around the block, or play outside, or even walk longer in the back yard, that she'll lose it again. We can't even play "fetch" because of the heat. It's just way to hot to get any dark colored dog outside for long. We do play with Gunner in the water (with the hose) outside some days. Tira likes to play to, but she's realized that if she's eating grass she gets sprayed more...so she ends up eating more grass which, in turn, leads to yakking it up later. :~ Plus she gets hotter alot quicker with the black coat and all. Guess we'll keep her food cut back and get her walking and playing more in the fall and winter. |

| LOL. I'm happy to hear that I am not the only one who goes through that phase. Right now I don't have the time or energy for another one. But I always said I wanted one of every color. Now I got two yellows and a black. I just couldn't leave poor Clay at that rescue even tho he's not chocolate. He's so sweet. It was funny yesterday b/c I had to put him in a cage in the garage while the pest control guy came. He was whining when we left and when I got back he was so happy to see me. He had the zoomies all around the patio and was jumping around. It was hilarious. I think he thought I might leave him there or something. I wish I had a video of that.
I agree about the heat. It's absolutely miserable. Maybe that's why Clay was happy to see me. He's used to 75 or so in the house. I had a huge industrial strength fan on him. But he managed to spill all his water. Maybe he just wanted to lay in it. |
