| Finally, we get a weight on him. Down from 101 to 88. He's looking good. Vet still would like to see him about 80lbs...so we keep on keepin on. On the other hand...Bella looks like a sausage link. So she gets to lose a few...She's 62. And yes I was right to big to be picked up to be put in the truck.
We also have a never ending battle with Gunner's ears. And today, we got to pack his left one. The right one looks good. It seems to mostly always be the left one. We have cleaners and such but today I saw the vet stick her finger way down in there...something I have always been afraid to do. So from now on I get to finger Gunners ear. Gross me out!
But all in all...other than being fatties they're in pretty good shape. We got some Phy-Cox today...is a new product to help with joints and inflammation. Gunner has slow days where he's just stiff getting up and stuff...ergo why we got the nice dog beds which he refuses to use. It seems to have flared up since we moved to TX, but we moved from all carpeting to Pergo and Tile with concrete subfloors. Great for cleaning but not so great if you lay on them all the time. So we will see if this helps him out a bit...I might have to get me some of that too! For a few months after we got here I limped around too. The vet laughed when I told her that, but it is true. I just know these floors are pretty hard on him and the area rug has helped but he still likes to lay on the cold floor. Anyways just thought I'd share some news...I'll update on the Phy-Cox and see how that works in the next 30 days. |

| | Good luck with the doggy diets, Harvey has just lost about 18 pounds bringing him down to about 70lb, in my opinion he is bit too skinny but the vet is impressed and it has really helped his leg recover quickly so it was worth it. Labs are a bit of a pain because I find mine are constantly looking for food! |

| | I totally agree with that! My two sit in the kitchen while I cook and wait for me to drop something. |

| | How did Harv loose 18 lbs? Special food or just a reduction in food. |

| I just reduced the amount of food he was eating by half, and subsituted some of his treats with veg like carrots. Because of his leg I couldn't give him any exercise but it reducing the food seemed to work.
Good luck with your diets. |
