I mean a large sum like 10k ?
Or is that against the law?

| | Gambling isn't illegal in most states. You can bet someone any amount as long as the other person agrees to cover it. It's best to make arrangements beforehand on how and when the money will need to be paid by. Large sums are usually given a few weeks to a month to get paid off whereas smaller amounts are either paid up front or in a few weeks. The only way anyone could be held accountable legally is if there was a contract signed by both parties. If it's a handshake or word-of-mouth agreement there is no way to "prove" there was a bet. |
