| Hi, have been busy recently, but have a bit of time to myself at the moment so thought I would re-register on here and have a look.
So I'm Caroline, I have 2 labs, Harvey Wallbanger of Histon (Harv) 5 yr old yellow english lab and Murphy the Sundance Kid (Murph) 11 month black field lab.
Before you wonder about the names, they are not official although both were KC registered as pups before I had them. Harv is named after a cocktail and we lived in a village called Histon at the time (you should have seen the engraver's face when I asked him to put that on a dog tag ). Murphy is named after a stout drink and was KC registered as the sundance kid so I put the 2 together. Mainly it is just Harvey and Murphy though.
I live with my blokey and pups who are currently asleep at my feet (pups not blokey, that would just be weird!!) |

| He is doing well thank you.
Still trying to convince him that he shouldn't be running around and playing with murphy, but trying to stop a lab playing is impossible.
Have the post-op check up on Monday where they will be xraying him to make sure everything has healed well, I think it has as there haven't been any problems.
They have both got used to their crates, but I don't think Harv likes being coped up after being used to the run of the house, but at least he only barks at 7.30am for breakfast and not all through the night. |

| | That's great! Funny how when it's time to eat they are sure to let you know. The last time I put Gunner in a crate for the night, he barked all night too. Needless to say I let him out. He still starts pacing around usually around 3. |

| Thanks for the welcome.
Harv was a knightmare was I first had to put him in a crate, the first night he would only sleep if I slept next to him outside the crate, slowly started to distance myself, Murphy took to it no problem.
Letting him out unfortunately wasn't an option as I couldn't risk him jumping on the furniture and causing himself an injury.
Anyway, getting there |

| That's good to hear. Funny the things we do for the pups...sleep next to them, clean up their poo, pee, and vomit. |

| | Yep, I even spent time sitting in their cages with them to get used to it, they are big crates if you haven't guessed, recommended for great danes. I thought it would be best as they were used to lots of room |

| | Yeah...those are the ones I have too. When we went to FL for the holidays, we took just one cage. It was funny because they both laid in there. I think Gunner was a bit homesick b/c he's not the one to be in a cage...but the whole time he would wind up in there sleeping. And Bella would go in there because it was her cage we took...I think she didn't want him to take it over. |

| I put Gunner in one of those collapsible crates when he was a puppy. He rolled it around the living room and pooped all over the place! That was his first, and last, time in a crate of any kind.
Tira has never been in a crate and neither has Rebel.
Glad to see you here. Also glad your pups are doing better. |

| Thanks LML.
I didn't really want to crate train them, but I couldn't risk Harv hurting himself after the surgery and I couldn't just cage him, so it had to be both. Have to admit I don't worry about them destroying the house when I'm at work now, but still believe that it would be nice for them to be free in the house, got to go with what is practical though. |
