| hello, i also found this site off of K9mania and i seemed to have been picked on by one person and he was america and he made out that my dog was goin to be a complete nightmare when my baby is born and that i must work extremely hard to get her to be under control right away, making out that i had some crazed dog that hates children when its the opposite she absolutly loves everyone and everything. any way rant over sorry.
I have a chocolate lab by the name of cocoa who is 3 years old i rescued her when she was 14 months old and she grown to be a fine specimen apart from a few hitches that i have posted for you all to help me with hehe  cocoa is your typical labrador loves food, people and sleeping.
I also have a Irish water spaniel cross with a springer spaniel yes i no your all probably thinking im some crazy women with a breed like that. he is a year and half and is full of energy loves water but is a very nervous pup and he is a complete pain for getting the bin over but love him to bits. |

| Well to be honest thats why I created this site for the folks who get done wrong to have a place to run too  Thanks for joining I dont think you have to worry about any of the meanies joining,  One good reason they know I will make them a example out of them, Then I would turn around and bann them. Everyone here gets along great and we all throw opinions off one another when we need help or have a question. Welcome and share pics if you got 'em.
If you are worried about your pups taking to a baby start working with them now. Bring all the baby stuff into the home, let them get used to it and make sure they know "no jumping" on the baby stuff...especially the crib, playpen, walker, hi chairs, etc.
I'd say walk around the house carrying something baby-sized in your arms and don't let them jump on you when you have the "baby" on you or in your lap. They can sniff, and kiss if you don't care, but no pawing or jumping. Get them used to the idea now and it'll be loads easier later.
Don't make it to where they are scared of the baby, let them lay by him/her and let the baby lay on and play with them. This will create a bond between them. Good luck. |
